A 9 year old kicked my ass

I went to forms class this morning at Kung Fu and managed to tweak my neck somehow. It hurts when I look up and to the right, which coincidenally is where it hurt when I had my car accident a few years ago. I hope I don't have neck probelms all my life, that would be a real drag. I was sucessfully beaten up during a push hands exercise by a nine year old. Yep. Pretty damn embarassing. I tried to play it off like I did it on purpose to make him feel better but I don't think anyone believed that. In another push hands exercise I was paired against an upper sash and we were both in japanese sitting position (on your knees, sitting on your heels) and I managed to win by pushing on her shoulders then grabbing her knees and tipping her backwards. I think technically it was considered cheating but damn it, I finally won a round! Every time you lost you had to do five push ups. Needless to say, I did a lot of freakin push ups this morning. On the plus side I did get a really good work out which is always a good thing.

This afternoon Simon and I did two hours of insane yard work. We mowed, mulched, garden weaseled, weed whacked and I finally managed to plant my garlic. I hope it isn't too late in the season for it.

I spent the remainder of the afternoon working on my NaNoWriMo novel. I am at 15,334 words and have just posted chapters 3 and 4. Woo hoo! I'm hoping to do at least another 5,000 tomorow. It'd be even better if I could get to 25,000 and say I'm at the half way point.
