The pre-weekend update

I got quite a response from yesterday's visualization exercise. Two people sent me pictures of what they really look like and others ranted or laughed. I also learned that I do not know what Angela Joilie looks like. I guess I'm slacking on my pop culture knowledge!

On a side note, I got an e-mail from Brent at the crazy asian drink page thanking me for linking to their site. I immediately felt bad because my link was something like "I nearly vomited on my keyboard after reading the crazy asian drink page." So go see Brent and Jeff and tell them kung fu kitten sent you. They're a couple of local boys with a wacky sense of humor and the drink reviews are hysterical if not brutally honest.

I spent an hour and a half at kung fu last night working with Marta. I like being paired with her because we are about the same size and we know about an equal amount because we started kung fu on the same day. Most of the class was spent perfecting our forms. She knows a few more moves than me on a couple of forms so I got to learn some additional moves. I love learning something new! Some of these kicks felt strange and I realized how unflexible I am in certain areas. I can do the splits on the left side and right but I can't do center splits. I am completely inflexible there and don't know why. It's kind of a drag for some kicks where I'm suppose to be aiming for the head. If it's a short person I might be able to kick them in the throat or chest but not the head. Granted, if you're street fighting you want to kick them in the ankle, knee or groin not the head but I still want to be able to do the pretty showy stuff.

Tonight Simon and I are going to a dinner and play thing. It looks like a cute comedy so it should be fun, plus I've never gone to dinner theater.

I broke the 10,000 word barrior for my NaNoWriMo novel. I plan on being obsessive this weekend and trying to hit the half way point. 25,000 words. Wish me luck. Chapter 2 is posted here.
