Say it, don't spray it:

maybe the people that keep diaries do so because they are already that way. that is to say, the headaches, sleeplessness, and social awkwardness cause the diary, not the diary causing them.

My God, what were they doing writing that article! Certainly they went home with a headache and got no sleep!

Eh? Not keeping a diary would be better? And let things fester within our minds? Huh? I think jordicat has a point there - that people who keep diaries were already suffering those symptoms, and that was why they started keeping diaries, as opposed to the diary causing those symptoms.

So what you're saying is that I was a neurotic insomniac with a pain syndrome before I started this bloody blog. Good to know. Oh crap, is it really after midnight???

No, I think she has a point. It would be much better to never write anything down, to not think, to actually let the numbness overcome you so that you don't have to actually ever deal with an emotion. Automatons. That's what we all need to be. {New Paragraph} I boo that whole study. BOOOOO!

"In fact, youre probably much better off if you dont write anything at all." How many times in my life have I heard THAT.
