The Friday Five

For lack of anything interesting going on in my head I'll do the Friday Five:
1. What are your hobbies? I do kung fu and qigong. I write bad science fiction novels. I study medieval history and victorian literature. I'm trying to teach myself latin.
2. Do you collect anything? If so, what? I collect fiestaware, not the vintage stuff but the newer releases. I use it every day. I also collect books, I have tons. My most coveted books are early printings of Dorothy Parkers stories.
3. Is there a hobby you're interested in, but just don't have the time/money to do? I would love to take singing lessons or learn to play an instrument. I used to compete in singing competitions as a soprano, I still remember some of the Italian arias I used to sing.
4. Have you ever turned a hobby into a moneymaking opportunity? Not really although I once did crowd control for a friend's band. I decided after having a beer bottle broken over my head that maybe going into security/body guard work wasn't for me.
5. Besides web-related stuff (burbs, rings, etc.), what clubs do you belong to? I'm part of the Mo duk pai association (kung fu), I'm a member of OSPIRG and I'm a founding member of the Portland Wine Society.
