Say it, don't spray it:

Now if they'd also had Carmen Miranda strapped to their luggage rack, there would have at least been a valid explanation.

When I first started reading your post I thought you meant an inflatable banana, then I looked at the picture and realised it was a real one. A few years ago I saw a car coming out of a car park with a box of washing powder on the roof. I went back to my car and forgot about it - until I got to the first junction and saw a box of washing powder in the middle of the road. Yey!! I got a free box of washing powder.

That is one reason I am glad to have a mid-size SUV. It is too tall for me to 'momentarily' place something on the roof, then forget about it. I love seeing random things on people's cars. It makes me laugh, too.

you've gotta love random things like that

Oh KFK, that's why I love you. I would also probably chase a car with a banana on the roof. Did I ever tell you about the time my mom was coming to pick me up at school when I was a kid and our CAT(!!!!!) was on the roof of our car??? Holy shit, I was both giggling and horrified, watching Coffee..."surfing" on top of our station wagon. I'm so glad she was ok. She eventually lived to be about 20. I think she used about 3 of her Nine Lives that day though. Ha ha!

Love the banana shot. Enjoying your blog from my insomniac circumstance in Toronto. I miss my days in Oregon, but I was in Eugene, not PDX. I did drive through this past May:: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LF1PxP64je8 Once I tried to chill a can of Fresca by wedging it in the sunroof on a wintery day. That didn't work out so well.
