Four day weekend

I didn't touch a computer for four days.

Friday I slept in until eight, drank some coffee then went to kung fu. Later on I went to the demonologist and discovered I had lost 2.5 pounds. Go me! Friday night Simon took me out to dinner at a cozy restaurant called Sala. It was very pretty and owned by the same people that own Ill Piatto which is a cozy romantic restaurant. I really wanted the food to be good. I really really did. It looked beautiful, it was made with all the right ingredients but frankly is was lackluster and rather disappointing. So if you want Italian food in Portland I'd recommend Rustica on Broadway or Picolo Mondo at Water tower mall.

Saturday, Simon went back to the emergency room to have his arm looked at. They screwed something up when they were giving him an IV last week. His left hand is still swollen & puffy and hurts when he rotates it. They sent him home with a bag of drugs and an arm brace. Poor guy. Saturday night I went to see Richard II with a girlfriend. It was a long performance but I thought they did a great job and am looking forward to going back in April to see Midsummer Night's Dream.

Qigong was cancelled on Sunday so Simon and I walked the two mile route around Glendoveer golf course. We saw lots of the native douglas squirrels. The squirrels in this park are the fattest squirrels in all of Oregon. Everyone brings them peanuts and treats. These squirrels don't run or scurry, they waddle. In fact I'm surprised more walkers aren't injured by obese squirrels falling out of the trees. Later on we did some grocery store shopping and made clams for Simon and some pasta for me for dinner.

Monday I was headachey and tired. I stole some of Simon's pain killers and spent the day snoozing, doing laundry and watching television. It was so nice to have a few days off work which just made it that much harder to come back to cubicle life today.
