Say it, don't spray it:

i don't know about diet, i don't drink it... but actually, caffeine is supposed to get rid of headaches! drink up!

golfwidow - 2006-02-17 17:11:11
What Dom said. My doctor just recommended I step UP my caffeine intake for that very purpose.

I'm glad you took today off from work. I love it when people don't try to be "heroes" and go into work when they feel like shit. That's why they HAVE sick days. It's cozy up/read/watch movies/nap/feel better time. I wish you had better numbies in the pantry/fridge though! I will sometimes make a "sick trip" to the store (under the auspices of buying OTC medicine), but really it's to buy snacks and delicious food bits (unless I had stomach trouble -- then I'll sleep all day and do the toast/cracker deal). At my last job, if I ever left work early due to sickness, I'd stop at Subway and the video store across the street on the way home. Yeeeeh!

he he, funny you wrote this now when I just wrote THIS.

Nah, I am addicted to diet coke. I still get headaches - in fact I get more when I *don't* drink it! I'm on your side for sure.

After I posted this my computer started clicking and crashed. The clicking is at least a new kind of death sound.

The Diet Coke is controlling your mind, making you violent enough to throw Egg Grenades, LOL!!!!!!!

In actuality it is a proven fact that caffeine aids in the severity of migraines. It doesn't stop anything, it makes it worse. As for your symptoms, it sounds to me like you have problems with your neck. Could be muscular, or nerves being pinched. I suggest you get it looked at. A chiropractor might help.

Kungfukitten - 2006-02-19 03:26:46
Actually, I'm pretty sure that it's hormonal. The week before my dreaded . <-- get it? ha ha. I tend to get my migraines and more tension headaches. Chiropractors scare the hell out of me. I won't let them adjust my neck, it's like their trying to tear my head off like a tick.

Technically, the causal factors for migraine headaches are not fully understood, although it appears to be a neurochemical disorder. Many experts think they begin with abnormal brainstem activity. I'm sure Amber means well, but Im in a sleep deprived cranky mood & found her comment annoyingly incorrect. I also suffer from migraines & have done a great deal of research on the matter. Caffeine is commonplace in foods, drinks & medications...WITHDRAW from caffeine is often sited as a "trigger" which can include mild, moderate or severe headache, in addition to nausea/vomiting, even for those who do not normally experience migraines.

If I was ever trapped on a desert island as long as I had diet coke and yogurt, I'd be fine. Hope you and your computer are feeling better real soon. :-)

Fuzzy Grey - 2006-02-20 10:14:18
I heard Noni juice helps with migraines (and also a whole slew of other stuff.)

Just hope you feel better.
