I'm kind of ... oh, all right, I'm seriously addicted to the Discovery Health web site. The focus there is on basic diet and fitness tweaks to help deal with health problems. It's not that they reject medical intervention, it's that they also encourage people to be proactive about their health, too. There's a definite correlation between getting at least 30 minutes of brisk cardio a day and improvements to the immune system. The latest study they pulled out showed much improved breast cancer survival rates for women who got that cardio in, versus women who didn't. If you have to move very slowly to keep your heart rate reasonable for 30 minutes, well, as we both know you'll gradually strengthen your heart and be able to speed up. I can't imagine ever being able to do 25 knuckle push-ups. Seriously. I do 15 wimpy knee push-ups and I'm blubbering for my mommy. I salute your grit.

I can relate. I feel like a slug at home all day, and hurting all the time makes you feel so tired. But I still can't imagine being able to do 25 knuckle push ups! :) Happy Tuesday.

i think you're underestimating the power of adrenaline. if someone really attacked you, your adrenaline would kick in and give you more strength to defend yourself - you probably wouldn't even think twice about using your expert kung fu moves on 'em. but seriously, i can relate to feeling like a total wimp-i recently started yoga and i'm making really small goals for myself - like get to class at least once a week.
