Now that you mention it, I never have seen a cat skeleton in a tree either. My cat who just crossed the rainbow bridge was chased up a tree by a neighbor wielding a water hose. She stopped quickly when I asked her what she thought she was doing and learned the cat was mine. Her response was that he was after her outside birds. I advised her he wasn't after her birds as he gets two squares a day and wasn't interested in eating birds for lunch. Spike stayed in the tall pine tree for awhile but eventually he did come down of his own volition and was never sprayed with water again. At least not in my presence.
