Syd, wonderful entry and the audio is so sweet (you do have courage dear!). Would you bring the beer to Los Osos instead?

konichiwa! i gave up aging gracefully long before it began (and i've got you beat, chronologically). that whole BobDylan "i was so much older then, i'm younger than that now" thing, i suppose. i got bit by manga/anime not so long ago, as well... Kill Bill 1 was a big influence. if you like the drawing, check out megatokyo.com... the artist is American, but wicked with a pencil. looking forward to reading your story, miss.

Wasn't it just a month ago you were telling me that the only way I was going to get over my commitment issues was by impregnating you?

I know just where you're coming from. I'm only (almost) 30 and have a husband, but I'm so childless it's not funny (except to me). I'm all over reading manga, and watching anime (and other, less cache-ridden cartoons). I have 'adult' pursuits, too, but I find myself having more in common with my husband's best friend's 14 year old than his wife or most of my other female aquaintances.

I think it's awesome that you're teaching yourself to draw managa. I love that stuff. Also I loved the audio blog of angry letters (I think we have that same crack whore...just kidding, maybe it's a relative of her's). :)

This is the beauty of leading the childless life: You NEVER have to grow up. You also never have to sacrifice any of your own selfish wants and needs. Though my childful friends can't understand why I'm so excited about comic books, movies, and heavy metal, they also often tell me that they live vicariously through me, since all they do all day is clean up baby puke and shitty diapers. It'll be 20 or so years before they can even anticipate anything more than their kid's every step in life. Personally, I feel I'm too old to have kids, yet too young to grow up. Make sense? Since I can't have biological children, I'd probably adopt a potty-training fully enunciating child who I could take to the movies, comic book store, and Ozzfest.

I'm jealous. In case you were wondering why I was looking at you like that.
