You should be able to get a little box that you can switch from tv to vcr to dvd. We have one that has five hook ups and you just push a little button. Don't know exactly what its called. I've had that happened but it was the sound wires for me. I had fun with my old fashion silent theater as I called it.

Lolita is speaking of an "Audio Selector" (I know it's a very technical term for a device.) Anyway, I actually was commenting on the fact that I own a TV but don't have cable TV and rarely if ever watch it. Unfortunately, I do not lead a normal life so I don't fit what you were describing either.

Does your surround receiver have video ins and outs? If so, just run everything through the receiver and use it as your switch box. You'll have to have the receiver on for everything (even just watching TV), but there's nothing wrong with always having great sound. If it doesn't...buying a new surround receiver would liekly be cheaper than a TV.
