I hate commas, too. Except that last one, of course. And that one. Seriously, though, I am something of a snob when it comes to comma-separated lists. Syntactically, you can use either the form "a, b, and c" or "a, b and c". I prefer the latter because it uses one less comma, unless "c" is confusing and the comma is needed to help the reader. And now I'm twitching because of all the commas that last paragraph required.
