That is awesome advice for anyone who is starting NaNoWriMo! I haven't done it before, in fact I'd never heard of it until I joined this site, but I like the idea. : )

On the not editing thing, you're right. It is good to go back and flesh out scenes that you raced through. The main thing is to not delete anything.

On the other hand, I'm a compulsive editor and I can tend to get bogged down in it. For that reason, it's usually best for me to not re-read too much, other than to get an idea of where I was at so the story stays somewhat cohesive.

For those who aren't sure whether or not they're doing NaNoWriMo, just try it! You don't have to finish, and it's a great way to just start something creative and see where it takes you.
