Say it, don't spray it:

THC is your total hydrocarbon output. If it's too high, that means your fuel-air mixture is too rich, signifying that you have unburnt fuel in your exhaust. Running the engine for a period of time before the test is good advice. Fuel mixtures tend to be rich on a cold engine and lean on a warm one. By running the car for a half-hour or more you'll be able to get the engine temperature up, lean the mixture and hopefully reduce your THC. Do note, however, that this could be a sign of a problem upstream in your emissions control system. This is the kind of thing you'd want the dealer to look at if you fail (or during your next maintenance interval if you pass).

Dang. Sorry you feel so bad. Wish there was something I could do to help, aside from the usual good vibe sent your way...

That blows. Also, fuck that guy and his whole "better half" thing. It's not hard to get sick of the whole "a woman needs a man" thing. Don't you dare give into it or I'll totally kick you in the shins. Of course, I'll have to build up a right calf muscle and do some accellerated training in martial arts first, but I'll do it.
