The Cave by Jos Saramago It's not an easy read, but it is a compelling read. Sentences run on and paragraph breaks are few and far between. Dialog is not marked off by quotes, so it becomes a little confusing as to who is saying what. Despite all this I find myself swept along with the concerns of the characters, reading fast to find out what they will do next, what will happen to them next.

Milan Kundera - he is my fave right now. I just finished "The Unbearable lightness of Being" and was inspired. So inspired. The way he writes his characters - sometimes it doesn't neceessarily move the story along, but you get great character background, and just inside the mind of the character. It's pretty philosophical, too. It starts out with Kundera's take on Nietzsche's idea of eternal recurrence, and his book is almost based on that idea. The Derrida Reader, eh? I'm also reading his "Of Grammatology" right now. Along with a billion other books for my english and philosophy classes.

I'm reading Don Quixote right now. It's fun. In between, I've got a book of short stories by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. He rules.
