The house is pretty clean and the garbage dudes have taken all the recycling away.
Tonight I used my candela lights to illuminate the cat's evening meal of wet food. It was very romantic.
Had a nice liesurely dinner with a friend earlier at Laura's Mediterannean Food on Divison. We ate at the stainless steel bar and watched all the cooks set stuff on fire and throw things around in pans. It was very exciting and warm as we were right in front of the open oven which showed that it was 633 degrees inside. Toasty!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I'm glad that it's all over with. I had a great time hanging out with my family. Mom helped me make dinner and we all had a really good time with lots of pinot gris and yummy food. I ended up roasting a chicken with lots of garlic, thyme, lemon and onions.
I got lots of fun prezzies including the DVD of: Pirates of the Caribbean, 4th Season of Jeeves and Wooster and Season 1 and 2 or Red Dwarf. Geek-o-rama! I also got The Damned "Smash it up anthology 1976-1987. 'Cause it's always fun to say "All I got was a Damned CD for Christmas."
Late in the afternoon we were hit with an amazing hail storm that turned everything white. Then a one horse open sleigh (carriage?) drove down my street, which was all very surreal.

I mailed out my Christmas cards this morning. Full of Christmas cheer I nearly got into a fist fight with an attorney over at Seattle's Best. The bastard cut in line, who does he think he is? There is a coffee protocol and you do not come between Kungfukitten and her first cup of coffee if you know what's good for you. I did hold the door open for a nice old lady so maybe that will balance out my yule tide karma.
I went home early from work yesterday and took a two hour nap. I think my body is fighting off some sort of bug, which would be typical as I'm usually sick during Christmas. Just a few things to tidy up around here and I'm off work until Janaury 5th. Tally ho and Happy Hols folks. I'll update sporadically from home.

I've been working really hard at being full of Christmas cheer and getting into the holiday spirit and all, but it's been hard going. I've baked cookies, attended parties (last night was fun, and I got to hang out with people who I usually see just in cyperspace). I watched Rudolph, Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Story but to no avail. I still find myself screaming Fuck you! to Tom Shane everytime a blasted engagement commercial comes on the radio. A friend in the diamond business, my ass. I find myself snarling at strangers and I have to curb the urge to run over adorable young couples holding hands as they jay walk across Hawthorne. My house is a mess. I don't know what I'm going to make for Christmas dinner. Christmas cards will be mailed out this afternoon once I actually write in them an adress them. No cutesy notes or inspirations for the New Year. My friends are lucky that I'm even sending something at all, let alone not driving past their houses and throwing coal through their livingroom windows. Bah humbug.
