Jane Austen never imagined this.

It's been a quiet weekend. I spent a couple of days battling a persistent migraine. I did get out of the house to go and see Bride and Predjudice. I've never seen a Bollywood film before but I really enjoyed all the singing and dancing. The humor was fantastic, very physical and over the top. I think the entire audience nearly wet itself during the scene on the beach with the gigantic gospel choir and the baywatch lifeguards. Good times. Good times. This afternoon I did a little house cleaning and burnt some CDs. I think now I'm going to do something outrageous like take a nap. Let's hear it for rainy lazy Sundays. *stretch*

I was a good girl and went to improv last night. However, no one notified my agent that the press was going to be there. Some lady from a mysterious local paper was furiously taking notes and snapping pictures. The camera came out a little too often when I was hamming it up on stage. My only hope is that my pasty white skin reflected all the light and overexposed the shots. All I could think about was 1) Im not wearing any lipstick and B) My tights are covered in cat hair. Actually, I didnt care that much. I was just having fun being a fool and jumping around. My favorite part of the night was playing a DJ and busting out a rap in gibberish. Hil-larious!

It took me a little over two hours to do my taxes tonight. I was feeling pretty good about myself until I did the damn Multnomah Country tax form and found that I owe a huge amount of money. I basically have to sign over my state refund to the county. It makes me want to scream. This is where I go from liberal democrat to angry libertarian. I hate the blasted county tax. Shakes fist angrily at everyone who voted for this ridiculous tax. I get none of the benefits of this stupid tax, yet have to foot the bill. It makes me want to pump out a bunch of children, quit work, drive drunk and start using heroin in order to jusify writing such a large check to the mayor. I paid for these services, by goddess, I'm going to use them.

On the upside, I'm trying to figure out what I can fivolously spend my federal tax refund on. Willamette Writer's convention with hotel stay? A weekend at Breitenbush? Spring clothes shopping at the outlet mall? I should do something sensible with it, like invest, remodel or landscape. But that's not very fun, is it?

I love you long time.

This morning I was blearily digging in my wallet for coffee money only to find that my wallet is jammed pack with one dollar bills. I dont remember having much cash in my wallet, let alone more than twenty dollars in ones. I tried to think back to this weekend and could not recall spending money or getting change back. There is really only one reasonable explanation: Ive been sleep stripping. I must be a pretty lousy stripper as well if Im only getting one dollar tips. Cmon people, wheres the love? Give me a ten or a twenty and I love you long time, sailor.

Diaryland had a heart attack this weekend and was down off and on for a couple of days. Things are still a little wonky around here. This made me realize just how internet addicted I really am. I simply didnt know what to do with myself I had not stats to check or google hits to deconstruct, not to mention leaving witty notes to my d-land homies.

I took today off work to be a complete and total slacker and I must say it feels pretty good. On top of it all, I just got a big box from Amazon.com. Its a strange mix of Victorian ghost stories, a manga vampire thriller and fiction - lovely lovely fiction. Ive been pretty good at keeping my New Years resolution of reading more fiction and less literary research.

Last night was the first night I was able to successfully sleep with my wrist braces on. I went to bed with them on Saturday night only to wake up and find them under the covers with me. (Im sure it was the cats that took them off in the middle of the night.) Speaking of cats, did you see the pictures of Loki with his head stuck in a bag?
