Holiday update
2001-12-31 8:40 a.m.

I haven't updated because I am on vacation and lame.

I'm back at work today and there is only one other person here. One. Yep, it's quiet and the lights keep turning off due to in activity in front of the motion detectors.

Christmas was fun. I took the train up to Tacoma and hung out with the parental units for a few days. We consumed huge quantities of wine and ate lots of good food. I got some great prezzies: The newest Damned CD, some French pottery, chocolate caramels, Stilla make up palette & socks. Not a bad haul. For the stupid gift game I got an inflatable rocket night light. It's wicked cool but I don't know where to put it. My uncle ended up with my rubber chicken & tiny fez gift and I think he really liked it.

I've been reading silly fiction this week. I'm on book two of the Red Dwarf series entitled "Better than Life." It follows the TV show pretty closely but I like the inconsistencies. The books are hella funny and I do a lot of giggling on the bus while reading them.

Simon had a friend in from out of town so we had a house guest all this weekend. He was a sweet guy and an easy houseguest, very low maintenance and was just happy to hang out with us and do some shopping. I'm still exhausted. If I wasn't travelling and being someone's guest I was hosting someone else. I need a vacation to recover from my vacation!

Simon and I have been waddling around the house making many New Years Resolutions along the lines of more fu and less food. I think I must have gained at least five pounds this month. Augh. I can't wait for things to go back to normal this week and start hitting kung fu hard again. I've been a major slacker this month.

The Human Society pet food drive was a small success. We delivered about 160 pounds of dog and cat food and a check for $50 to the Humane Society last Saturday. We then walked through the dog section and checked out the pups. They all looked healthy and happy. Most were at the front of the cage and interacting with the people. It was very clean and nicer than I thought it would be. But I still cried all the way home because I didn't know why people would give up their pet after a few years.

I'll post my New Year's resolutions later on today once I get them figured out. Happy New Year's everyone! Feel free to post a resolution in my guestbook! What do you want to do in 2002?
