Please don't hit me again

We did sparring last night. After looking at my bruisded and battered body this morning Simon said "Please tell people I don't beat you up." Like I strut around in a bikini at work. I even wore black tights today so nobody could see the black and purple marks on my legs. ouch couch. I took a couple of really nasty hits. I think the mistake I made was taking a couple of large pain killers for a headeach a couple of hours before class. My headache was down to a dull roar but I felt a little slow and clutzy. I could see the hits coming in but couldn't react fact enough to get out of the way or block correctly. Oh well, won't be doing that again.

I have two friends at work that volunteer for the local humane society. One of them sent me an e-mail saying they ran out of cat and kitten food in the cattery. So I called the humane society and bought two eight pounds bags of food over the phone for them. The cool thing is the humane society gets the profit from the sale and they can just walk across the hallway to give the food to the cats. That was my feel good moment for the day.

When I got my cat, Loki from the humane society he had an upper respiratory infection. I was very worried about him because his snot was a little pink and the antibiotics weren't working as fast as I wanted. Well, I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and like a kitten, Loki decided to follow me to see what I was doing. When I looked down at him I saw his muzzle was covered in bright red! I thought he had hemmoraghed or something. I started crying and scooped him into my arms going, "My baby, my baby." Then I got the unmistakable scent of italian herbs and spices. I held him away from my body and looked closer at him. His snout was covered in marinara sauce. The little varmit had learned how to jump up on the kitchen counter and had finished off my left over ravioli!

Simon is leaving after work to spend a weekend in a yurt with a bunch of dirty drunken boys. I know I'll miss him but I'm also excited about having a weekend to myself. I'm going to practice kung fu, write and get the house ready for Thanksgiving. I'm actually looking forward to it!

I might meet some local NaNoWriMos at Kennedy School tonight for beers, food and writing. I haven't met the group in person yet so it could be interesting. NaNoWriMo word count: 17000ish but half way done with the plot. I need to beef up my word count if I'm going to finish within the rules.
