Go on, ask me!

Ask me where my car is parked this morning, go on. It's parked in my CEO's parking spot in a cozy warm and dry parking garage. A few months ago I put in $10 for the United Way raffle as part of our company's big United Way charity drive. I won five days of free parking in the CEO's parking spot. So from November 21, through November 27, my car has a nice place to stay during the day. Do you know what that means? No public transportation until December! Huzzah! No more projectile vomiting, drunk men trying to pick me up at 7:00am, fights or men exposing themselves to me at the bus stop. ~it's like Christmas~ And as parking runs about $12 a day, my $10 investment is getting a pretty good return. Oh yeah, the money went to charity so I guess that's pretty cool too.

Staff, sleep & pictures.

*yawn* Had to get up at 5:15am this morning to meet with a small group of kung fu students that are interested in learning the rest of the northern staff form. We again ran to the parking lot of the Catholic school (this is the same Catholic school that doesn't want us to come and do a demo because kung fu is too violent) and practiced the staff form as the sun started to rise. It was very zen like. The only downside is that I'm exhausted as I couldn't fall asleep until after midnight last night as Simon is sick and wants to sleep on his back, which means he pushes me off the bed and then snores. So I'm basically functioning solely on a grande shot in the dark from Seattle's Best Coffee and generalized work panic. I'm suppose to go to kung fu class tonight but I may put it off until tomorrow in favor of some sleep. Some of the pictures I took this weekend are on my kung fu style's website. The only sad part is that since I took the pictures I'm not in any of them! Bummer.

Kung fu camp.

I continued to have a migraine until Sunday afternoon. However, that did not stop me from attending the kung fu camp festivities. Thursday morning I got up at 5:30am to attend a staff form class. Later that day I went to my sifu's chi sao grappling course which was incredibly fun even if I was the only girl that showed up. Yeah, there's nothing like coming home covered in other people's sweat. Friday I was again up at the crack of dawn to learn more of the staff form, then it was off to a yoga class. Saturday I was again, up at 5:30am to head up the gorge to Crestview Manor for a full day of kung fu madness. It started with a 7:00am staff form class (hey, we know about 2/3 of the form now!), then ended around 6:00pm with tournament sparring. The highlight of my evening was actually scoring 1 point in sparring. (matches are 2 points to win). I was just thrilled that I wasn't consistently pummeled. Our school did a pre-dinner demo of "dance fight!" which was like a mixture of ball room dancing and kung fu. The best way to describe it is it was like a really violent Gap commercial.
