Fireman stories

I've been thinking about firemen a lot lately, especially after the whole WTC incident. My dad is a retired firefighter and has some great stories. Here's a couple of my favorites:

They get a call from a hotel in downtown Seattle. The famous hotel where you can "fish from your window" about some guy in the water under the hotel.

My dad drives the fireboat to the hotel and they hear screaming coming from under the hotel. When the shine the light across the water they find a guy holding onto a barnacle covered pier under the hotel. They pull him out of the water and he's all soaking wet and not wearing any pants!

They ask him what happened. The guy explained his wife was in the bathroom getting ready for their big evening out and he was getting dressed in the main room.

He said, "You know when you're putting your pants on, you do that little hop? Well, I kind of lost my balance and kept hopping." And he hopped right out the window. His wife came out, noticed he was gone and eventually heard his yells for help coming from below.

Dad's other favorite story had something to do with breaking down the door to a hotel room because a woman was screaming inside. When they got the door open they found the woman, naked, tied to the bed and a guy lying on the floor unconscious dressed up in a superman outfit. Apparently he was climbing on top the dresser to take a flying leap on to the bed but slipped and knocked himself out, leaving her to scream for help.

Me and dad chillin' out in the early 70s.
