Lazered eyes, qigong & explosives

It doesn't feel like a new year.

Simon goes in to get his eyes lazered this afternoon so I get to be the designated driver. Which means I'll probably miss kung fu class tonight as I don't think we'll get home by 5:30. Oh well, I'll start my insane kung fu schedule tomorrow.

New Year's Eve was uneventful. Simon was stressed out about work (he might get laid off) and it was cold and stormy out. We opted to stay home and watch British comedies. I BBQ'd a kick ass dinner, yes we are hard core winter BBQers, and we sipped a bit of cheap Merlot. At midnight we went into the backyard and watched the local teenagers try to blow up the neighborhood. They had lots and lots of fireworks. What patience, they must have been sitting on these since July fourth! The cats raced from window to window in awe of all the commotion then promptly fell asleep on my new Christmas blanket once the explosions stopped. We did the same.

Now I'm trying to get back into the swing of going to bed early and getting up at 5:45. It is not going well. I was tossing and turning until 1:00 last night. Maybe I'll be so tired tonight I'll be able to go to bed early. *yawn*

I start Jade Body Qigong this Sunday. I'm getting excited about the classes. A friend of mine from kung fu has organized a teacher who will teach to a small group every Sunday for an hour & half. We're going to start with five weeks and see how it goes. We don't do a lot of meditation or energy work at kung fu so I'm very excited about getting some training in this aspect of martial arts.
