i have a cat who must be given a glass of warm water on the side of the tub whenever i bathe. put her in an inch of water, however, and she is not a friendly kitty.

My cat Lucy who was born in Salem, Oregon absolutely loved to walk around the rim of my bath tub while I was bathing and stick her paw in the water and surreptitiously drop my earrings in the water. (Bad kitty!!) Although she did fall in once and totally freaked out. I rescued her of course. She then moved on to pulling out long rolls of my toilet paper...like from the bathroom all the way out to the kitchen. I think she might have been a little OCD.

what is it with cats that they will drink water out of anything other than a bowl put down specially for them. My cat has a glass of water by the bed. If I don't notice when the water has got too low for her to reach she brings it to my attention by knocking it to the floor. awittykitty - there's a brand of toilet paper in the UK that advertises itself with a labrador puppy doing just that. has done for years - Labrador puppies are often referred to as "Andrex puppies" as a result.

Ruby, my cats have a glass of water next to the bed too. Hilarious! When it gets low my girl cat will dip her paw in and then flick the water on my face. Nice way to wake up. :)

I have a theory that cats just like water thats not in their water bowl. I have 2 and if their water bowl has been sitting for more than 10 minutes they have their heads either in the toilet or in the tub.

Nice way to wake up ha! I don't even have to give my cats water they drink from the toilet.
