Say it, don't spray it:

Ach, what's wrong with wearing pyjamas out and about? I do it all the time. Then I don't need to do all that getting comfortable at the end of the day, as I already am comfy. But I do agree with you about guys and pants below bum cheeks. That's just wrong. xx

Pjs are comfortable, if not quite a fashion statement. I thought I would never wear stuff like that out in public but I work with special needs kids and so sometimes sweat pants or pjs are the best thing to go with. Also, snapping the band of their underpants is equally as effective and often just as funny. An enraged boy with his pants around his ankles is super amusing. It is worth targeting one at least once.

Can I give you my list of guys who deserve a wedgie. My list is like a mile long including famous people like Bernie Madoff and anyone who hurts a kitty. Maybe we can make this into like a reality show like Punk'd. We'll be famous, KFK!! Squeee!!!! They'll be buying US perfume once they see the error of their way!!!!

I totally agree about the pjs. Or maybe I'm jealous that I could never do that back in my younger days. I saw a guy the other day with his jeans almost below his thighs while his boxes stayed up. I just don't understand this whole baggy pants thing. They look like idiots!

Wearing one's flannies is a very common fashion statement among Art College Students here. (As are a bazillion other cute little idiosyncracies, of course, such as dragging around teddy bears on dog leashes, wearing baby pacifiers on a ribbon around necks, carrying those little transparent plastic handbags filled with little plastic babies, wearing funky beanies with attached cat-ears etc.) Pyjama pants are also popular in schools here on Casual Friday -- we had it at the last school where I was principal. (Wearing outrageous slippers to school and college are also very popular.) And anyway, personally I think both bras AND pants are entirely overrated in the leaving-the-house fashion statement department. A nice feather boa which covers most naughty bits strategically should be enough for anyone who has to dash out for an emergency loaf of bread or pint of milk (or load of mayonnaise, even), surely? Some of the students at the school I teach at go so far as to where their slippers along with their pajama pants. Some times they'll wear a completely normal outfit and then giant fuzzy slippers. The underwear thing on my guy students makes me massively uncomfortable. I do not want to see their underwear! Your suggested wedgies should become common practice.

There's an area of Liverpool where its totally de rigeur to wear ones PJs all day long out in the street. I forget which area, you'd need to ask smashthegas. Down south we have a bit more docorum - if I have to do the school run in 'house only' clothes (I dont have any PJs), then I NEVER get out of the car! s x

I see pajama bottoms and slippers all the time. The first time I saw slippers, I had to go ask the kid many questions about it. I was baffled. As for the boy undies, I'm seeing boys whose jean legs are tight, the butts are saggy and plaid boxers are required. It's a weird combination of boys wearing girl jeans, and saggy hiphop pants. I guess they're trying to hit all the trends at once. The underwear bit makes me uncomfortable.

it' funny, in college i typically went to my first class of the day straight out of bed and then any time we went out a night i was in sweatpants and full on pjs annnnd slippers. thought nothing of it. though i was drunk 1/2 the time. now i have to be dressed to leave the house if i intend to get out of the car.

I think it's okay to wear anything they want to in public. Hey, if they're idiots why shouldn't they look like it?

Ruby - 2009-03-14 17:19:41
Yeah, but just think: if your daughter ends up going out with one of those low-pant guys, at least you will know that his underwear is clean :-)
